I agree we should be suspicious of a new member that comes along and says something profound like "My NexCell V2.5 caught fire."
Here's how I recommend we proceed:
@AzusaPrius, why don't you contact Jack and ask him how many customer's he's aware of who have reported thermal events? If @jacktheripper is willing to tell you this information in private, would that be a reliable enough source?

For example, if Jack says "I know of two thermal events that have occurred", then that would implicitly corroborate @Stencil_Box's statement, or at the very least would confirm that at least one other person besides @sworzeh has experienced a thermal event.

Note that I am aware of QTY5 total customers who have experienced NexCell thermal events:
-@sworzeh, who created the My Project Lithium Battery Caught Fire thread.
-@Stencil_box, who contacted me last month regarding sending the Signal Soother I ultimately reviewed. Note that at that time, they didn't reveal that they had experienced a thermal event.
-John Doe#1, who contacted me privately after reading posts I've made over the past month.
-John Doe#2, who contacted me privately after reading posts I've made over the past month.
-John Doe#3, who contacted me privately after reading posts I've made over the past month.

I suspect there have been other thermal events, too, (e.g. from people who aren't involved with PriusChat). And I'm sure each one who contacted Jack got a refund/replacement/apology... but great customer support doesn't magically resolve the missing safety features that caused these thermal events to occur in the first place. That's why I continue to sound the alarm. This community deserves to know when things are getting swept under the rug.

So why don't you ask Jack how many thermal events he's aware of... I'm:
-sure it's at least two, and;
-pretty sure it's at least five, and;
-wouldn't be surprised if the number is even higher (i.e. because not everyone who has contacted Jack has also contacted me).
