Will it damage the hybrid battery if I blow water mist into the ventilation duct?

As Dogman states, recycled mode still allows some fresh air which is enough for the hv battery. The battery is not a human; it does not require or need 75f-90f temperatures. I prefer 75f so the battery does benefit while I am in the car. I have never seen recycle mode dropout even though it is possible. Given the car will increase the battery fan as needed the only concern is when a dog is allowed to shed hair on the back seat which ends up in the blower wheel.

The AC system still pumps out cold air even after 13 years and 310,000 miles.

 

The vents in the rear of the car in the rear of the quarter panel are part of the Toyota flow through ventilation system which has been part of Toyota since they're inception as the car moves forward in air comes into the car via Windows just moving forward and the vents on not recirculate etc natural air will flow through the vents go through the car picking up cigarette smoke and things like that and you can watch the air actually passed to the rear of the car where it goes out those rear quarter vents with the flaps on them that's what's supposed to happen then when the car is not moving in air is not coming through those flaps drop closed pretty simple when the air is being forced from its intake at the passenger side of the rear seat back air goes into that vent that's cool because you have the air conditioning on hopefully goes through the battery actually goes through the white fan and out the rear ductwork on the passenger side and blows out that rear vent The fan blowing opens the flaps on that side of the rear vent so the air can get out also realized as a big huge hole on the black square ductwork that passes over the 12 volt battery so a lot of air can escape and not really go out the vent and drop on the 12 volt I guess this is done for cold weather possibly. I tape up that big square hole in the duct work right over the 12 volt with zip tape so now the air is not dropping on the battery in the summertime It predominantly continues down the duct work and goes out the rear quarter vent I've done this taping of the square hole to all four generation 2 sitting here I guess if one really wanted to it would be possible to get a thicker squirrel cage in the white case that fan back there you could get one that was maybe two or three inches wider that would obviously up the CFM but I don't know that it would really make a whole lot of difference I think maybe nickel metal hydride can take more temperature than the other chemistries I don't know.

I use these to stop the fur from the dogs in the back seat.
"Some" dirt will still get through, no system is perfect.
But when I change my hybrid battery, NO fur was in the system, and only a minor
thin layer of dust was on the fan blades. It was a medium dirty when I took it apart
to install the Prolong harness.
