I have a very unusual side mirror issue, my LH side mirror has started power folding out when I turn on the rear screen demister. That on its own is weird, but what makes it weirder is I don't have the option of power folding mirrors. I have not replaced the mirror (have owned the car since early 2019)

Anyone seen this issue, suspect a BCM fault? Any help appreciated

So when you're messing with the demister for the back window or whatever it is you're doing is there some way your hand can hit some button that folds the mirror I don't have any of this kind of nonsense on my car so I'm not sure if that's just automatic when you park or is there a button you can push in to make the mirror fold in ?

Sounds like somebody did at some point, else there wouldn't be a mirror there capable of power folding out.

I assume before it can power fold out, it must have been folded in. How does that happen? Have you a habit of folding the mirror inward by hand when leaving the car?

No, there is no power folding button that I know of and I don't believe Gen 3 Prius have the option of power folding mirrors, that's the weird thing.

By fold out, I mean it folds backwards, so the reflective part of the mirror is facing to the footpath/sidewalk on the left (the complete opposite to folding in - if that makes sense)

I have to get out of the car and manually twist it back to its regular driving position so I can see out of the mirror when I am driving. It's very unusual.

Also, I have owned and driven the vehicle for 5+ years and never replaced the mirror and it has never done this before, it just started doing it with no changes made to the vehicle. LoL
