I have a 2009 Prius with 257K original traction battery
purchased it in 2014 at 27K
I used to get 45-60MPG usually
47-50mpg in town traffic at 47mph and
55-60mpg on the interstate if i keep it at 60Mph.
that was up to around 2016
I keep an excel file now of all the stats to track.

in 2017 i replaced the 12V battery and you can see my mileage started dropping at that point, the dreaded low ev state as discussed in the other thread.

so at approx. what MPG will I get the code to replace the traction battery? you can see my MPG drops a little every year and im down to 39.22mpg right now.

sorry for the skewed numbers, it all looks good in the writing section, just gets skewed once posted

There is no way to predict when you will get a code for the battery.
When one of the cells falls below Toyota’s design software parameters, it will throw a code.
You can recondition the battery now if you want to improve performance, or put the money into a new battery when you’re ready.

Keep in mind that overall mpg is greatly affected by items other than the HV battery. I purchased a 2005 with 280k miles and one failed module in the battery. Replaced just that module and it was banging out 52 mpg for about a year before I was run off the road by an suv that liked my lane more than me and totaled the car. That car had a beautiful maintenance record with everything being performed at 2 local dealers. Even at low capacity (but not coding) the car should be able to maintain 45+ mpg. How has the overall maintenance been?

A few things to look at:
Brake maintenance kept up with pin lubes so they aren't dragging?
    Parking brake shoes not rubbing?
    Plugs and air filters?
    Throttle body/MAF sensor clean?
Synthetic oil 5w-30 and decent oil filters every 5k miles or better?
    Transaxle WS fluid change?
What kind of tires and pressures?
    Alignment?
Any body damage or plastic pieces hanging down under the car?
Is the brake actuator cycling like crazy? This can actually make a 3-5mpg difference.
How much do you run the AC, that can make a 3-5 mpg difference
