I was able to manually unlock my driver's door of the Outback on the highway. Didn't think to check if it would lock again after slowing below 5mph and speeding back up.

The conditions for when or if the doors auto lock and unlock were all adjustable in the settings menu of the last three cars I had(GM, Toyota, and Subaru).

The service manager at my local dealership told me they haven’t received an update regarding the timing of fixing the vehicles that were mid production or on the way to dealerships. He said US car manufactures typically let the cars arrive and fix them afterwards and Toyota typically takes care of production before the recall unless it’s super serious like brakes etc. He also checked on tire inventory due to my curiosity and said he can get replacement 19” tires within a week but it’s a special procedure due to shortage. Hmmm…

That was the default on our '23. Shift into reverse or drive and the doors lock. I think it is changeable in one of the settings areas, but I have no desire to reset it.. As I read it, that is a good work around. Just don't change the default settings on door locks (or put them back if you did).

Would be possible for you provide the source of the data on the significant number of deaths in Teslas due to doors not opening? I would like to see it. Thanks

I just received my Safety Recall Notice (Interim Notice) by snail mail from Toyota.

Car was in for its first regular service today - was expecting them to ask about or insist on pulling the fuses as per the interim recall for Europe (we don't have auto-locking), but they said the fuse removal notice was cancelled today, and the real fix is now available. Booked a time for it next month.

I was in last week for an early oil change and 6 month service. I was told there was no news here in Canada.

(and before anyone asks why have them do the early oil change - I have a 3 y/o and an 8m/o, a lot of laundry and whole host of other chores to do. For $40 more, I was able to have them do it for me while I was able to keep working from my laptop)

    Great info!

Do you know if you have a TSB/number/'code' or anything? I know you're in Europe, but was just wanting to provide something to my dealer.

Perhaps if you all don't have auto locks on the back doors those have been fast tracked for repair???

I'm just hoping they don't tear up the rear interior doing the fix. I will be taking before pictures just so they can't say there was pre-existing damage.
