water coming in through sun visor, how to clear drains?

Yeah you might want to look into getting that piece of weather stripping straightened out renewed replaced that sort of thing I have not cleared the sunroof drains on a generation 3 but in the late '80s and early '90s I had lots of Toyotas with sunroofs generally at each corner of the sunroof there's a little hole that's attached to a tube that runs down the front A pillars I think that's the right terminology and basically goes to the area where the front fender bolts just ahead of the door with the 10 mm coming up through the bottom of the fender and then in the rear they dump out somewhere near the rear quarter panels I think. In older cars these things were about a quarter inch or a little larger maybe almost 5/16 tubing You could literally take a coat hanger straightened or a long piece of wire straightened and push it through the sunroof drain until you would hear it when it came out the other end of the tube where the water supposed to go You could actually jiggle the wire up and down and hear it touching and then you could pour a little water in there and gently apply low pressure air say 5 to 10 PSI and sometimes you would hear a splat where the crap you just pushed through the tube with the air and the piece of wire the Air Force it to splat against where the water normally goes now you can run some more water through and it'll clear the dirt and crap that just hit the body panel coming out of the tube and you'll do the other for the same way that water should be running down those drains quite quickly kind of like a gutter system on a house if you will so maybe even with that plastic deteriorating if the drains were fast and working properly the water might be able to get down the tubes without getting on you but if you're moving forward with great speed like 60 miles an hour that may be a little tricky that piece of plastic trim on top of the sunroof forward of the sunroof may need to not be compromised and good luck

 

I'm not sure you would want to blow the crap in the tube up into the car roof area that stuff could come flying up and drop into the cabin on the floor of the seats I would be tempted to blow from the roof down toward with the water flow down towards the ground not from the ground up towards the interior of the sunroof and then the car If the sunroof drains or any count I haven't looked at my 2010 solar roof car I might try to do that today there's not a battery in it right now If the sunroof drains or any count you should be able to take a long coat hanger or piece of steel rod maybe 3 ft long and straight and be able to gently push that down through the sunroof drain tube I'm not sure if you have one at every corner of the just two in the front or two in the rear one up front on the right and one in the rear on the left not sure the arrangements but the schematic breakdown of the car will show it and show the tubes and how they run but I would work from the sunroof towards the ground let gravity be your friend and probably the piece of wire or rod will work the best got to be real careful with the air You don't want to blow the tube off the barbed fitting that you can't get at without tearing the whole car apart but if you see water coming out of there then seems like it might be working or you're seeing just regular rain dripping off the rest of the car because it's wet I don't know I wouldn't think the sunroof drains would be pouring water through them usually the water that collects under the sunroof from rain melting ice and things like that generally is pretty minimal now if the car parks under trees a lot and you've had build up of tree crap level with your rear seal in the hatch or if your rear seal area in your hat looks like pure hell more than likely under your sunroof is similar just that it works that way dirt and garbage in those areas is a serious enemy to you so you want to keep that sunroof well clean same with the gasket well in the trunk needs to be whistle clean and be the color of the car and black color of the seal no trash should be able to run your finger around it and pick it up and it still be the color of your finger not black.
