I was driving for like 10 mins and my 2006 Prius Hybrid randomly made a high pitch beep sound and then my check engine light and red hazard light came on. I made a previous post but I don’t think it posted. I don’t know what to do or how to read these codes. Someone please help me, I’m going to autozone in the morning to see what they can do about it. But it was extremely random and won’t go away and I’ve had no issues with my car.

What about the amber lights on the dash is the b r a k e in red on on the left of the eyebrow display It's like you've got the parking brake depressed permanently but it's not Is that on what about the orange! With the half circles around it the ABS light in orange The traction control light and so on are any of those on Do you hear the brake pump running quite a bit especially when it's beeping at you it's a continuous high-pitched beep It's not repetitive it's on or it's not. That's generally the beep that lets you know the accumulator or brake pressure is not able to hold this will come and go while you're using the brakes and the brake pedal may change in feel and could cause you to panic and not stop correctly so be aware and careful for this to happen.

Those aren’t the codes. You can search here for blink codes, or get an autel maxi 200

Never mind codes you see on the infotainment screen. People keep getting the idea somewhere that those have anything to do with diagnosing the car, and they don't. Those are strictly about the infotainment system itself.

Trouble codes from the car need to be retrieved with a scan tool. We have a thread that reviews a number of those and suggests some good ones that can read all the necessary codes on a Prius:

    Gen2 OBD2 app review | PriusChat

If you have lights from the braking system, you can get those codes without a scan tool, like this: Blink (a/k/a Flash) Codes – How to. | PriusChat

But be ready for disappointment: there's a good chance that the only brake-system codes will be the ones that mean "the brake system was notified of hybrid system codes, go read those."
