Traction control going off erroneously

Recently I changed my rack and pinion on my 2010 Prius. Now, sometimes when cornering the traction control will engage causing the front brakes to engage the abs. Problem is there is no reason for the tc to engage.
I tried recalibration by disconnecting the battery, having the technician use his scan tool again (which started this whole problem I think) and also the paper clip jump in the OBD port. But it persists intermittently.
A while back I had a problem with the left rear wheel brake dust shield completely rusting out and getting stuck in the wheel. It didn't tear the brake lines but I just wonder if that could be causing it? Any ideas?
