    Hi all!

Been a couple of years. We had a 2001 Prius that I replaced the battery pack at 150k with a nice set of Gen II modules that ran for 100k miles till someone T-boned it.

    I miss that car.

Enough that I'd like another one. Anyone got either a 2001-2003 Prius with a rebuilt pack and a working AC, or a nice solid little older Prius? Would prefer on the East Coast, I can fly out to pick up but it needs to be able to be reliable and relatively clean.

    Thanks!
    Chris
(Just sold my basket case 2000 Insight for $2.00 on InsightCentral, so I am flush!)

Actually gen1 is history, gen2s are getting old and have the typical battery and brake booster issues while a gen3 is like wishing for a curse when buying used.

A nice Corolla or Civic is the value proposition in low cost used cars.

And that is what I was curious about. I just had the water pump blow on a 2013 Lexus RX350, $1500 repair job as they have to dig through the engine to do it. There are.... common problems with cars, and it seems that the post 2010 Toyotas are not like the old 2003 era Siennas that would run forever.

Which is sad because aside from the battery and having to clean out the throttle body every few years the 2001 Prius had no problems. Darn thing was going to run forever, which is what I like.

So what's the word on Corollas?

Simplicity of design and the ability to buy parts at Napa is the Corolla or Civic story. Plus any mechanic will work on them unlike hybrids.
