Hatch actuator or a fuse?

    Hoping someone can guide me on this - the hatch of our 2005 will no longer open. It's not the gummy handle issue (got that on my 2008). I can go inside and pop the hatch manually but it won't open from the outside. This problem started shortly after I broke something in the back and had small pieces of plastic I had to pick out of the latch. I've looked carefully and can't see anymore pieces stuck in the hatch actuator but I think I might have broken it. I understand it's pretty easy to buy a new one and plug it in but I wanted to double check that it's not a blown fuse before shelling out for a new hatch actuator. Can anyone tell me where the fuse is that opens the hatch (and if there are other things on that fuse?) Thanks for any assistance!

    I'm sure there is a fuse that goes to the rear hatch to the lock mechanism it probably is in series with all the other locks on the car so just make sure you don't have any blown fuses that's the best way to do that and then if we're quiet when you push the button do you hear the actuator making that noise it makes kind of a click if you will indicating that your button pushing is actually trying to do something If not these buttons do get messed up not just the rubber getting yucky other than that it would probably be the actuator and they're very easy to change and they just plug in and you'll know if it works within seconds it will only take you minutes to change all the plastic trim just pulls up won't even need a screwdriver probably.
