Mendel I am in the same boat your in.

I am in my early 70's and have had a couple of close calls medically in the last 4 years. Both issues were resolved by our wonderful medical system and I can still do most anything I want physically and otherwise.
I don't plan on going anywhere soon but I certainly am aware the clock is ticking down and that it is going stop sooner than later.

My father is still alive and is pushing almost 100 - I am happy for him but seeing the medical challenge we face as humans when we reach that age I have no interest in pushing the limits on the aging process.

It would be interesting to know the demographics of people on car forums - I suspect most young people are not active participants.

When I started posting, I was in my 20s.

Because I wanted to work on my car. Myself. As much as possible.

If a particular problem was beyond me, I at least wanted to have some vague idea of what was going on.

I ended up learning a lot and doing a lot and would probably still be driving my '08 except vehicle safety became A1 after a near death experience. I still avoid driving, but when I drive, I try to do so in vehicles that have a chance in an accident.

Anyway. I do enjoy working on cars and still do as much as I can.

As for departing this strange third orb from the sun, know the reaper may make a grab for you no matter your age and or physical condition.

I don't post much and I don't read much, but I like that Bisco seems to be a Seinfeld fan.

Sometimes I think logging into the site breaks the site.

It's like watching an elderly relative climb stairs......you always wonder if THIS is going to be the time......

shhhhhh climbing stairs is about all the exercise I get these days. Gotta mix it up somehow, someway, someday.
edit: going down them too, even do it sometimes in complete darkness practicing for that day that may eventually arrive when the i's don't wanna see anything anymore.

I just looked....have only been here for 5-years....joined a couple years after my wife replaced her old Corolla with a Prius (unintentionally but fell in love with the little green thing...I named her Tinker Bell because she's the same green color.)

Our family owns lots of Toyotas and my other auto forum is ToyotaNation but a lot of those people scare me....some know just enough about car maintenance to make themselves dangerous! (One, yesterday, said he drains the transmission fluid while it's running to make sure it all comes out.....okay, let us know how that new transmission costs!)
