There are a lot of uninformed opinions around Elon Musk. Having read his biography and been a working engineer, here is one of the better insights to how Elon works and thinks:

    • Starts with discussion of Elon Musk
      • Go at least to 16:08 for the core
    • The whole video deals with Tesla as a business
I have both favorable and critical opinions about Elon:
    • Quality over schedule explains "Elon time"
      • He does unique and never done before things
      • Won't knowingly ship if it doesn't meet his expectations
      • Willing to learn lessons and change
    • Loves his kids
      • No understanding of the one who rejects him.
    • Susceptible to fraudsters . . . as we all are.
    • Serial monogamist compared to this 43 year, widower.
      • Should have had a vasectomy after the 5th of 11 kids
    • Performance demanding boss

Unsophisticated individuals falsely assume that genius in one endeavor means genius in everything.

That's why they use baseball players endorse automobiles.

Musk manages innovations in the fields of electric cars and aerospace fields.

In other matters of society, he is obviously lacking in skills.

I don’t want to have any insights about him though. There is enough space given in the news already about him. He is another person in the world, no more valuable than any other. Depends on the value system I guess. I tend to think more in the lines of the New Testament, or try to. It’s very engrained, money is success. Engrained from childhood.

The managers of almost all organizations get the credit for almost everything.

However, It's everything else in the organization who does all the work and innovation.

In history, slaves who in innovated and built most of the infrastructure in the South never got any credit.

Elon did not do it all. Especially, a lot of immigrants, who he appears to denigrate work for him to make his achievements possible.

In early California, Japanese and Chinese immigrants innovated and developed the agricultural and fisheries, when the white got most all the credit.

great societies need great leaders. while we are all equally valuable, we are not all equally capable.

I was hoping you’ all would get to the part that Elon listens to everyone and requires employees to talk with anyone who can solve a problem. Kinda like we do in PriusChat.

    Plenty to ponder in that.

I went back and saw her say that. In the real world of today if you are mister nice guy and share with a good heart your discoveries, someone else will run with them as their ideas. Also this is what she, a money manager I believe, says, but what is the reality of what he does and why. Should a person be required to share their ideas just because they work at a company? I don’t think so, unless they get the rewards. Just like Musk now gets the rewards of earlier ideas like Paypal. Which was his start from being lifted from being just another anonymous tech person out there.
It’s a lot to think about.

sometimes ideas help move you up the ladder. they are not required, but encouraged.
generally speaking, ideas that can be patented inure to the benefit of the company.
if someone is confident in their idea, they can leave and start their own company.

As you know, my 93-year-old mother is now at end-of-life palliative care.

“She yearns to see and hold Claire’s children one last time. Especially the youngest, whom she has not yet met. She was thrilled for the kids’ planned visit to celebrate her birthday this weekend. Today. But those hopes were crushed when the trip was cancelled.

Grimes and Musk have been battling for custody since the breakup. The status between the parents is unclear as documents in their court fight were sealed early this year.

In 2023, Grimes herself pleaded with Musk for parental access after seeing a photo of the Space X founder with tech expert Shivon Gilis and their two kids. (Musk, who has fathered 12 kids, has made no secret of having children with several women,

About three weeks before Holly, my wife of 43 years, passed, we coordinated a ZOOM session with her kids. It was a blessing for Holly and let her kids see her one last time.

As for the Musk-Grimes kids visiting Canada, it might lead to a Canada vs USA custody battle which no one wants to see. Holly.had kids by her abusive, first husband. In spite of her getting custody, He took them and didn't let Holly see them for 10 years before I met her. Later, when we were moving to Huntsville, her kids arranged for a dinner with all of them. But the damage had been done and that is why they needed to see her.

Holly and I never had kids other than each other but it worked for us. So I have no direct experience and not qualified to have an opinion other than Holly's experience with her first husband and kids. The risk of Canada changing thier separation judgement is real.
