Loud honk when unlocking or locking the car.

    I have a Toyota Prius c 2012 that randomly started to honk really loud when I unlock the car. I don’t know what the issue is and can’t find a solution to the problem. I don’t really know much about cars, but any information would be greatly appreciated.

    You can turn that off, see the owner's manual.

    I can’t seem to find it in the manual. I did try some of the stuff that I thought was related to the problem but none of it seems to work.

    Sounds like a car alarm. Is there an after market car alarm installed in your car?

    I don’t think so. Usually this issue tends to disappear after a couple of weeks maybe months, but it comes back randomly and I don’t know how to fix it.

    Is it the cars horn that's beeping when you unlock and lock?

    There are bout 100 youtubes about how to use the key fob to shut of the cars normal lock unlock beeping.
    I didn't see any about the cars horn beeping when locking and unlocking using the key fob though.

    It’s more of like the siren horn that beeps when I unlock the car or lock the car with or without the key fob. It’s really loud compared to the honk in my car. Also I think I might have an after market alarm so I’m going to do more research on that.
