Jack location mishap on front end

What front jacking point I don't think so there is one there kind of but most people don't really know much about it You've lifted on something on the side of the block etc I have to go out actually and look at the generation too that's opened up enough so I can see what exactly you got to jack on this is a garage shop jack or a fact assembly thereof like a one and a half to three ton single handle jack not the carjack in the trunk correct? So you're lifting up around plate that spins on the top of your jack lifting point? Yes I see you've broke something I just have to go look to see what it is and all that I'm not sure how this happened or how this would even be a thing because generally there should have been a bunch of plastic there that I guess has been removed or fallen off the car I didn't look to see where you are a lot of this stuff gets vacated pretty early driving over parking stones and all that stuff Very few people have all the plastic under their Prius generally you don't lift the Prius except by the jacking points right up under the forward edges of the front doors that's where you put your jack you lift the car up you put a stand in that area and you let it down and you go to the other side and so on or you use two jacks and you lift it up at the same time you and your buddy put two stands down on each side drop it down whatever putting them jacks and stands in the engine compartment can be quite tricky and you need to be on your back or on a creeper and make sure you're getting it right not just kicking it under there and looking yeah it looks like it's going to hit and then dropping the car and stuff starts falling off the vehicle which generally looks like what happened here.

 

Yes that hose you're pointing to feeds the coolant heat storage tank or supplies the block either way It comes from over the coolant heat storage tank and that little pump area You literally broke that tit right off and that hose titty goes right under the other one that's not there right now in the coolants coming out of If you're lucky you'll be able to take the tit out of the rubber hose take a look at it and see if it's really damaged and maybe put some ceiling on it and tap it back into the engine block I can't tell if you literally broke off part of the hole in the engine block you'll have to see by offering it up to see if it can actually go back in it's just a press fit I believe. But it is in there pretty good from the factory so your jack saddle had to hit that pretty smartly that is really something yeah you must have been using one of those homeowner what looks to be a garage floor jack but the saddle has no depth in it and it easily slides right off of things where a commercial jack the saddle is more like a bowl and a lot of times that will hold on to things under the car and it won't let it slip off the saddle that is and do this kind of damage.

 

I’m guessing you were jacking on the transaxle housing, cracked it.

Attached is an Owner's Manual excerpt showing the front jacking point, but not the best illustration. Looks to be a point on the cross beam between the wheels.

 

Looks like he might have been jacking on that bar or piece of metal that's attached to the engine transmission and goes to the underside of the car I don't know if I'd really call it a mount but yeah and then it slipped off that rolled back dropped on that lower hose it that was connected and goes over to the coolant heat storage tank now that hose is hanging and there's an open hole in the block as you can see from the pictures the hose that's hanging is supposed to go up there under the other hose in the same kind of sheet metal tit that's squeezed into the block sealant on it hammered in I'm not sure

 

Looks like a coolant line and nipple were sheared off. I have a Gen 2 engine and transaxle sitting in the garage at home. I'll post some close-up photos later today when I get back. May be a PITA if it's a press-in style nipple (likely).

 

Take a picture of the hose that's dangling from the end where the clamp goes around the nipple that should still be in the hose You want to see what that diameter looks like You want to remove that nipple from the hose clean it you may be able to put it on a mandrel and fix it on the exhaust shop might have a small enough conical mandrel to sit it on and tap it and get it right then you put some sealer on it offer it up to the hole tap it in gently or the dead blow hammer brass drift whatever. Hopefully the hole itself isn't damaged from the push and the snatch
