Hi there, this is my first post!

I drive a 2008 Prius, 168k miles. About a month ago my dashboard lights lit up (everything but check engine) and using Dr. Prius app I found a P3000 code. After some troubleshooting I found my battery temps were running high and the coolant fan near the back passenger seat was not running. Attempted to override using the app with no success. I dismantled the back today and found corrosion in the wiring to the coolant fan.

How do I clean these connections? Thanks, appreciate any insight or advice.

I do mine with CRC electrical contact cleaner comes with a little tube I put a rag underneath it and I'm blast the get out of it there's some stronger stuff you can buy too but you have to be real careful with it it's hard on the plastic and so on some people jumper the pins out and connect wire to wire with butt splicers or twist them directly or whatever so you're jumping out the plug and wiring directly You don't ever unplug this plug really so there's always that but you're on the right track You don't want to try cleaning with brushes and all that you'll break the pins You want to get them clean maybe you some dialectic grease put it together one time and that should be it for the rest of the life of the car now you need to wrap that with zip tape make a pancake out of it and seal it up because water falls on that plug and then you can finagle that plug deeper into the well and tape it up in there so when water falls in from poor seal maintenance in the hatch well it'll bypass that plug and go on to the hatch floor or the tire spare tire floor where you need to have the forward most plug already removed and there's a few plugs over and by the 12 volt you need to push through so water will drain and not sit there and/or freeze in the winter Good luck

You cut the connectors off and splice the wires using a good quality splice connector and heat shrink. I've done it to every Gen 2 I've owned and to pretty much every customers gen 2 if I do a HV battery job and that connection shows ANY corrosion..

First you repair the wiring per TMR-JWAP, then you clean and seal the body cracks around the tailgate hatch.
