I have an 07 Prius that has had a few issues recently. The first problem was the red triangle while driving which is the battery fan. Now I can’t get it to crank up. I have checked the blue 15a fuse the main link and tried boosting it off. What could I be missing? Thanks

I used a scan tool to clear codes but it still isn’t cranking. I had my booster box on it while trying

Battery fan automatically turns on when you get a red triangle related to hybrid system... Warning lights mean error codes have been stored that will point to the problem. You can buy one of these to read and clear error codes using phone apps like Dr. Prius App and others: http://www.ebay.com/itm/265484403768

I cleared all the codes and it still didn’t start up. Will the car crank and run if the battery fan isn’t working?

you don't want to clear the codes, you want to read them. they will help direct you to the issue.
it is possible that an internal short in the battery is interfering with the booster pack. are you sure the booster pack is good?

Use a volt meter and measure what the voltage is for the 12v auxiliary battery.

I’m sure my booster is good but I will definitely use a voltmeter to check the 12 volt battery.

when you say there could be an internal short in the battery, are you referring to the 12 volt battery?

You have a warning light which usually comes on when there's a fault with the hybrid drive system. The car uses the hybrid drive system to crank the engine at 1000 RPM in order to get it running. Now the engine won't crank over.

Maybe there's a fault with the hybrid system that prevents it from cranking the engine.

You need a capable scantool to check all systems for codes. Here's a thread that reviews several scantool apps and devices for smartphones.
