I lost my 1/2 key fob years ago. That's still a master.

My only one stopped working. A replacement battery didn't fix it. I have to take the key out to get into the car. Mine is a 2013 with just a button to start it. Hold the fob on the button and then push it to start. I'm not ready to pay the dealer $180 to program a fob from Amazon $69 and then have to get a key made on top of all that. I was told that some locksmiths can do it IF you find that someone.

I was wondering if the chip in the fob could be fixed? I can't keep throwing money around. tough time. I would appreciate any information , any that might be a better way than going to the dealership

    Thanks so much

it's unusual for a fob to stop working without physical abuse.
i would test the fob and 12 volt batteries

Thanks for the reply. How would I do that? I know the fob battery is good and i just replaced my 12v battery in the car. It's the fob,, the inner workings of the fob. I haven't abused it in any way that I know ....

If you already know both batteries are good, it can’t be the batteries
