2016 Head Unit Upgrade Question

    Hi all,
    My son bought a 2016 Touring edition Prius and wants to upgrade the head unit so that he can get CarPlay and Android Auto onboard. I have no experience in these types of upgrades or modifications. Looking for some insight on brands to avoid and what should I be looking for or worried about by removing the OEM head unit?

    That is a 4th Generation Prius, this is the 3rd Generation.
    They would be able to give you better info because they own 4Gen.
    But https://www.crutchfield.com/ is a very good place for car stereo's.

    They can make the harnesses you'll need so you just have to unplug the old unit
    and plug in the new one. You won't need much experience for that.
