Trying to figure out what there are and purpose? Moulding has all but perished and mostly steel cables in channels on the roof. TIA.

Is it part of the molding that deteriorated That's just what's left of it Georgia is pretty hot and pretty hard on rubber. I don't know of any steel cables running in the roofs of Toyotas at all personally I don't own a Prius c but I see them apart at the junkyard with roofs caved in and crushed and bent and those molding strips pulled off the roof and thrown on the ground just because I've never noticed any kind of steel cabling and can't imagine what it would be for like in an airplane it might be for ailerons or things that move but in a car I can't imagine pictures are always good if they'll post.
