That isn't a half bad idea for PandaBOT. Even a single X-Ice could get them by until they can get a replacement all season tire. Then, since they live in Colorado, they could get another 3 X-Ice tires this winter for a snow set.

All due respect and this is an old thread but 55 lbs difference in the SE versus XSE Prime is barely 1.5 percent of curb weight and will not result in a 7.7 percent drop in fuel economy. (the 300+ lb difference in going from standard hybrid to Prime is definitely a factor as that is around 10% of total weight but that is a different comparison) Given that the tire widths are the same (assume contact patches to be similar with the road), the 7.7% difference must be largely if not all from aero (0.5 inch lower on the SE and maybe those wheel covers).

To draw analogy from under-inflated tires to correctly inflated to over-inflated tires, fuel economy is influenced by that rubber patch (friction)-wonder if someone can put this through its paces (getting errors)
