With the EGR cleaning? So far so good, I just hit 220,000 and still seems to be going strong!

I haven't used any JDM specific suppliers that I can remember. Many of the OEM parts I've gotten have been from ebay (only sellers with solid accounts/feedback) and gently used on craigslist.

I'm not sure how popular the opinion is, but with my own vehicles, as long as the car has good bones, I'll put in what many people would consider an unreasonable amount of money to keep it going. At least know what definitely needs fixing and what's already been addressed. (Kind of a "devil that you know" situation.)

Do you mean a battery from a gen 3?
I used to hear good things about Green Bean, but with time, more issues came to light, so I can't say I'd recommend them personally. :censored:

    I gotta agree. :(

My 2010 has a cache of mystery places in the dash that nonstop rattle something fierce.

The interior of my roommate's 2017 feels so flimsy, especially the center console. (Compared to the textured surfaces of my 2010 (he says the 2017's glossy plastic looks and feels really cheap.)

Is the engine burning oil? How bad? If it's not too bad, the head gasket should be the
least expensive way to go. I changed mine at 301,000 miles and now have 50,000 miles
since replacing it.... How many miles a year do you drive?

It's cheaper to replace the engine than head gasket where I am. Did you get the JDM engine? How did it work out? I'm not burning any oil. I drive about 20,000 miles a year. This is not some thing that I can do on my own, mechanic will need to do it. The labor for the head gasket is thousands more. This way with an engine I get a new intake manifold, EGR cooler, etc. Did you like the engine you got, and who is the supplier?

It is very much so and the newer 2024 Go sit in one of those It's like a Tesla Very cheap interior I pinch myself when I sit in a Tesla and listen to my buddy tell me yeah this car can go you know 500,000 miles and I'm like hey you'll be sitting on seat frames and have wires sticking out of the dash with momentary contacts which is wired up and stuff it'll be mad Max in the thunderdome for sure there is no way now let me say this go sit in a generation too and close the door that's 04 to '09 hear that thud lean against the front fender You won't put a dent in it with your knee bending over to change the spark plugs like you will Gen 3 and forward . The planned obsolescence vehicles are not dad's Toyota and I know this The new folks coming along 150,000 miles is like a million years to them they've gone to space and back of course you know these are people that have been raised in the house and never been outside that sort of thing so that's a lot at play here.
