I've got a 2011 Prius that needs an engine located in southern Illinois. It seems a JDM engine is the route to take. Any insight on which JDM importers are more reliable than others? I've seen mixed reviews on most. I've been looking at Orlando JDM and Texas JDM. It would be nice to see what I'm buying, but doesn't seem to be an option. I've seen the 4th gen swap into 3rd gen, but plan to stick with 3rd gen due to price and what my mechanic is comfortable with. I've also seen the traveling mechanic that does them (so cool), but time is a concern as well. Greatly appreciate any insight. Thank you.

Not so much. Reading 1000s of reviews it seems like all the suppliers are hit and miss. I came across hybrid pit stop in CA and was tempted to go with a rebuilt engine from them, but ultimately rolled the dice on a JDM engine from JDM Orlando . It's supposed to ship out today.

Have you found a place where you know what year you're getting?
