Evaporative System Codes P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402, P2419.

    I got the box replaced. I cleared the codes and I drove the car few days. I got the check engine again but different codes this time (PO441, P2420). I tightened the gas cap, and I cleared the codes. but I got the same codes again. anybody has an easy fix for me

    Any update - you replaced the canister with the valve? Used or new?

    Hi everybody. I'm having similar code issues, and my SMOG inspection is in May this year, so i need to get this addressed.


    Using a INNOVA 5160RS OBD2 scanner, i get the following after i've replaced both the vapor canister and the EVAP canister with NEW oem parts.

    My codes are:
    Permanent:
    P2402
    P043F
    P043E
    P2401

    Pending:
    P2419
    P2402
    P043F
    P043E
    P2401

    Stored:
    P2419
    P2402
    P043F
    P043E

    The permanent codes were there prior to the fix. From what I've read, I need to complete several warm-up cycles and then codes should go away on their own. Can anybody vouch for this? I've also read it's best not to fill the gas tank to max capacity during this time while it's completing these cycles.

    I cleared what i could after the fix, but Permanent codes cannot be cleared via scanner or battery disconnect, only after the issue has been addressed + cycle time.

    This is the newest car I've ever owned (along with our 2016 Honda Fit) and all these new codes make me want to get a SMOG exempt vehicle.

    I'm going to check the "rock shield" possibility, but it's a SF Bay Area Cali car, so I don't see that being the issue. Best to check though. For future readers, the "rock shield" is actually called a "Filler Pipe Protector", and depending on your application, is either p/n: 77277-47050 (With plug-in) or 77277-47040 (Without plug-in)

    I had to erase these codes a few times on my sister’s car (2014 Prius) until we realized it would happen every time she would go to a specific gas station. It is a gas station with service and for some reason the kids would fill the tank up to the rim. I guess one of the electric/electronic components related to the canister didn’t like the waterboarding torture (I should say gasboarding).

    I've had these codes for years. It also always seems to be related with water. Either rain, or morning condensation on the early or later summer days.

    I replaced my gas cap a few months back and I thought that solved it as the CEL did not return for a long time.... until yesterday.

    When inspecting the gas cap area, I see what a crack. It's so straight, but I don't think it should be there. Can anyone confirm?

    Assuming this is a crack, would this be the reason? Or a potential reason? If so, how can I go about replacing/diagnosing this?
