Could this be the real reason why the head gasket fail?

Our last car, a civic, manual called for 3.2 litres. I was still in the mindset that dealership oil changes would garner warranty brownie points. One time after a change I checked; it was at least 10 mm over to mark, maybe more. I’m guessing they dumped in 4 one liter bottles.

anyways, after draining the overfill that time, under the car, holding the drain bolt just in the hole, trickling oil into a graduated canning jar (till my arms started shaking too much), I resolved to pack in the dealership oil changes.

Yes, Ilso believe they have +/- for amount of oil for engine.

The engine is different in the way it starts. The ICE start the engine at 200-300rpm in the good day with perfect battery.

The hybrid start the engine at 800-1200rpm. Instant torq immedidly from zero to 800-1200rpm tend to having affect of pulling oil in to the intake manifold. This happen overtime day by day everytime when the oil stay overfilled.

That is what I mean by "more is better" mentality in the human being in general. My oil change also came back overfilled.

Did you pump out the excess to the slightly over or slightly under top mark?

That likely doesn't happen. Oil blows by the rings, but the motor runs a lot faster
than the hybrid turns it over to get it to start.
Oil get sucked in from the pcv valve.

Too much oil, a lot more than 1-2mm on the dip stick, would cause excessive resistance
with the crankshaft having to rotate through oil for 360 degrees which would not be good
for the pistons or rods. Which "might" cause a little more oil getting sucked through the
pcv valve, but that would be the lease of your problems..
