so i ran out of gas and as soon as i noticed i pulled over n stopped battery at 25%. went and got a liter of gas n put it in and the car would start n try to charge the battery but then stop. tried that a few times before calling it a night. … now i switch hybrid batteries and put in more gas but it only clicks once on startup ( instead of the audible 3 clicks of relays when you hit the power button). What could i be missing here?

Wonder if one liter is enough. You mean one gallon? Also can you hear the fuel pump priming?

One liter is nowhere near enough. Put in enough so that the low fuel warning quits blinking, before even thinking of trying to restart it.

Once you tried several restarts without adding in that much fuel, it may have locked out further attempts in order to protect the hybrid battery. Try disconnecting the 12V battery long enough to erase volatile computer memories, so that it 'forgets' that it is intentionally locking you out. Then re-connect the 12V and try again.

    From your Owner's Manual:

My guess is that the hybrid battery safety plug was not installed correctly. You need to do all three steps for correct installation.

You insert the safety plug, then you flip the handle down, then you slide the handle hard. I will try to find the diagram.
