Torque steering wheel nut

Sounds about spiffy for that size of nut 19 across the flats I don't ever torque that nut personally I take steering wheels off all the time when I find good ones and I return them with two shots of my DeWalt big 1/2-in drive flex volt impact gun I do the same with my lug nuts I haven't tqd to lug nuts in 40 years but I know they do. But to answer your question I do not know the number should be listed in the torque specs for all Toyotas the same 19 mm across the flat nut is used so I would imagine they're the same torque spec since about 1975 or so It's the same 19 mm nut when I go to the junkyard I don't change the sockets or nothing It's the same size we'll be interesting to find out if it's been the same torque spec for the last 45 years I'm guessing probably so a little over torque on that nut you're certainly not going to break anything but I wouldn't want to try to kill it personally

 

I don't have the correct figure handy, but for a bit of that size I would expect a figure in foot pounds rather than inch pounds.

Usually the people mixing up ft lbs and in lbs here are going the other way, where they try to tighten some small fastener but they misread the figure as ft lbs and end up breaking it off.

Misreading ft lbs as in lbs at least won't have you breaking anything off while tightening, but it'll just end up 1/12 as tight as it needs to be, and this could be bad later on.

Moral: should be careful not to mix up ft lbs and in lbs, in either direction.
