I got a 2008 Prius from a state auction with plans to keep a drive. At sixty thousand miles i got a new traction battery from Toyota also a new 12 volt. The car sat for over a year to the best of my knowledge.
The car starts and shows charging. I clear code p3000 and P0AFA and they come right back.
If the car Safe to drive?? Dr.Prius show block four Red And all RI Good Yet it is a brand new battery from Toyota. Should i drive it or is there something wrong. I read on permanent codes?
    Thank for your help.

you might need tech stream for proper codes and sun codes (INF codes)

did it sit for a year after the hybrid battery was replaced?

Did you have the Toyota dealer install the battery? Did you purchase and install it? Did you purchase it and have someone else install it? Did someone else tell you they purchased it and then installed it? Was the HV battery ecu inspected to verify the socket wasn't corroded?

At sixty thousand miles i got a new traction battery from Toyota also a new 12 volt. The car sat for over a year to the best of my knowledge.

Is the underlined "I" supposed to "it", as in the car had a new HV battery and 12v battery installed at 60k miles, prior to being auctioned?
If so, what is the current miles? The way the sentence is currently worded, it sounds like you bought it and then YOU had a new HV and 12v battery installed.

If the new stuff was installed prior to the auction, and the car sat for a year or more prior to the auction, then it's likely the battery has gone through some self-discharge, but may be recoverable if charged up. Relatively new OEM batteries are pretty tough.

    Thanks
My Steps so far, towed the car home. Used DRprius and car scanner and ran codes. I purchased a grid charger and got the battery up to 230 volts. The car started and ran. Drprius showed blocks 4,5 as being bad. The IR on other blocks varied. I purchased four used cells on ebay pulled the battery replaced the cells installed new bus bars, cleaned and checked all the plugs for corrosion. Still Red triangle. After reading trouble with rebuilt battery's, I purchased a brand-new OEM traction battery from the Toyota dealer. I already had purchased a brand new 12 volt from napa. I then installed the new traction battery that came with all new wires from the battery to the ecu area.
Still have the red triangle come back after clearing codes. Code showed low voltage, Car starts and is charging when brake and pedal is pressed. I just purchased Ebay Tech stream after seeing 1700. from Toyota. Does the car just need to be drove? wait tell the warning light is fixed? There must be something i missing or need to look for. Thanks for the help.

You may have good HV battery modules, but the modules may be unbalanced. When the difference between them is the threshold voltage, the HV battery ECU indicates an error.

    Thanks
Well the battery came in a crate from Japan, might have been sitting for a while in a warehouse. I did buy a grid charger trying to bring back the old one. I will put it on the grid charger and see if it will balance out. I was thinking some other part was broke.

When you removed the hybrid battery ECU from the old traction battery, did you look closely at the orange connector to see if there was any corrosion on the connector pins and the ECU pins?

A new OEM traction battery should already be balanced when you receive it. I do not think that is the problem that you are having. My guess is a bad hybrid battery ECU.

Is there any evidence of water getting into the trunk area of the car? This is a very common problem on a Gen 2 Prius.

Edit: Take a look at this YouTube video, https://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DlKWwrEXsPR8&ved=2ahUKEwj70dypi8uIAxUHhYkEHa8jJnIQwqsBegQIEBAE&usg=AOvVaw2avwqXok44fVX8GyQBqDZP

thanks when I first started the car Dr.prius showed 195 volts and block 4 in the red as if bad. Yet that be with a new OEM. The dash showed bars rising well. All the connections looked clean. Is a new ECU plug and play or do they need flashing.? Buy new or used ? I will look at other plugs also. Thanks again

Hybrid battery ECU is plug and play. I would buy a used ECU.

I assumed the new OEM traction battery came with a new voltage sensing wire harness, and you used it, so that is the reason I suspect your problem is the ECU.

After you make one more post (5 posts total), you will be able to upload a screenshot of the Dr Prius app. I would be very interested in what it shows.

I would make another post (to reach 5), then post again with a picture of your Dr Prius screen showing the block voltages.

For some reason Dr.prius will record yet I sent it to phone and my email to download and load here and file was rejected by both. What's the trick.

It was showing 230 volts 56 percent charged and then 195 volts and block 4 bad can't be with new batteries.
