When did you install the sodium ion battery?

Why did you replace your lithium ion battery?

    Last Thursday, the 19th.

Saw about a 4mpg increase on Saturday. Today was a good test.
When you drive 700+ miles a week, every mpg helps!

Yep, more acceleration for sure if you go WOT...feels like a quantum solenoid was added. I don't or try not to drive like that ever but did notice that boost. 10k miles, good news there! Thanks for sharing.

Sheeesh was on the 15 freeway today and when going back home northbound is where I noticed the true difference between the lithium and the sodium.

Put that baby in POWER mode and man no problemo keeping the mph in the 70's.

ICE temp got to 206F outside temps was around 81F and later got to 95F so it was not a cold day.

Later on while in my town got to see what Jack calls Mario Kart mode, let me know if you know what that is but damn tripped me out to find out without knowing.

HV pack temp stays an average 100-106F

In non Mario Kart mode you can still feel the difference in how it gains speed faster than the lithium versions.

I have the race version Quantum Solenoid and a big bore throttle body from Hybrid Pit as well. The Sodium battery definitely gives it a bigger kick when going full throttle. I have a friend with a stock 2012 Prius, I need to do some side by side tests with them at some point!

    @TheChip

I have pretty much the same setup.

RedBullet Track Edition and Big Bore throttle body but with an added throttle body spacer.

Makes the Prius very fun to drive.

Add a sodium-ion HV battery and you got a pretty quick Prius.

For us big guys, it's more like King Koopa mode than Mario Mode. It does well and holds EV a long time if cruising in medium traffic where you can coast a while in the "sweet spot". Acts like a Nickel Metal OEM battery as far as it's power curve, just on steroids. Cautiously optimistic, if this can go the distance it's a keeper.

invincibility mode until the engine kicks back in....or bonus MPG status with a long EV stretch like a plug in Prius while it burns the energy off. Or maybe in Mudder or Chapman terms Snort a huge line of coke...:ROFLMAO:

    Who wants to race? Lol

It can all be done electronically now. Since no one actually wants to go to a real track anymore, except for talking.

Get an app and post some numbers.

    Lol@get an app

Not reliable versus two cars being at the same place and time next to eachother.

With the app, you got a lot more variables like the location with different elevations and different days and times and weather temps.

Not to mention the OBD adapter quality.

But...I will check it out since I already have the Torque Pro app just for fun.

Like you I will have to see when and where is the best place and time to do so.

Till then I am here in the high desert if anyone is around and wants to go at it.

Its all just for fun no pink slips or money lost....unless you are into that sort of thing.

I don't think anyone who has been to a track in a real track car or double duty car would ever say 'lets race our Prius", unless they were trying to grenade it on purpose. You're taking it too seriously. Regardless of what mods you feel you have, it's still a Prius. You're not going to set the world on fire. Your variables just aren't that significant for this type car. Just do the app and post it. You should have been doing it every time you make another "upgrade" so you can actually see whether or not there's any improvement, for real. The numbers are what they are. Heck, I've still got my OBD Link LX and just put a new battery in the Galaxy S3 that has the OBD Link performance app. maybe I'll burn off a test tomorrow morning if traffic permits. Don't have the same car, but it's a 100% stock 2007 with 160k miles, the original battery with 2 replaced modules, decent tires and a fresh oil change. I haven't done sht to it since I bought it except fixed the battery and changed oil & filter 2x. Haven't even done transaxle fluid, sparkplugs or even air filters. Even the brake actuator cycles about every 15 seconds. But, it's good enough for a baseline. And still does this:

I think you take the words you read on here too seriously, Im not asking any guru track racer to take the time to race my prius lol.

I show off the speed of mine on the streets daily anyway.

Even with an aluminum front skid plate, full size oem spare tire and Prius PLUS rear sway bar, this car is fast with the added weight.

Only weight reduction done is the
sodium-ion HV battery and Ray's super eco rims, oh and removing all the stock air intake system and rear wiper lol.

I will try and not be serious and use the app and post numbers...lol

The old Gen2 is tough and practical.
A few years ago, my hybrid was doing 670 miles/1,078 km on one tank, with a consumption rate of about 56.
I rarely drive it now, but it is as reliable and economical as it was in its best young years.

Of course you do....and of course it is..........it's the most awesome-est bestest fastest prius ever...but you never back it up with a real number, just your feelings because you are SO in tune with your car.............fast? compared to what? my wife's Hyundai Santa Fe could line up next to you on the street and she would leave you in the dust. Hell, she'd probably be parked and texting her friends laughing about the whoopin' she just put on someone's prius by the time you got to the finish line.

    @TMR-JWAP

We are trying to compare apples to apples here not your wifes car versus mine.

But comparing my prius to a faster car than your wifes, like a wrx I dusted a while back and posted about, now that is something to talk about.

You can keep drinking the hateraid as it shows every time you post against me.

Don't make me take that car from you...I couldn't resell all those parts under the hood even for chicken scratch in south central.
