Coverage is good in Hawaii as far as Toyota Financial is concerned, but there are a couple of issues.

First, Servco is a private distributer and import their cars directly from Japan so they're not in the U.S. warranty database. That just means there is a 1 year / 5000 mile waiting period before Toyota Financial will issue a policy on a car purchased there. If it was purchased on the mainland and brought over, this is not an issue.

Second, I can never get the same answer twice anytime I talk to anyone from Servco regarding their policy on how they will handle claims. So you should talk to your local dealers service department and see what they say. Just make sure they know we're talking about the factory plan through Toyota Financial Services. BTW, I have sold several plans to people in Hawaii without any problems. You might also be interested in knowing that Maui Toyota is an independant dealer...not owned by Servco! I have confirmation that they will accept both the AutoCare pre-paid maintenance plans and the ExtraCare warranty plan.

thanks troy! does this mean i should have bought the warranty a year ago since my basic 3 year warranty is will be over by february. i mean, if i got the warranty now, does that mean i won't be covered most of next year?

No, you're fine since your car is an '04. So you are good to go whenever you're ready. I just can't apply for a policy on a new car that originally came from Servco until it's a year old. Then the plan will still start retro back to the original in-service date and mile 0.

I just called Toyota Marin, Hilltop Toyota in Richmond and Hayward Toyota, they all said they'll accept the Toyota Care Coupons (pre-paid maintenance plan from TFS/Troy). Anyone in the Bay Area have trouble at any of the dealerships around here getting your maintenance done with these coupons? Thanks.

The Toyota plan that Troy sells here for $990 is 7 years / 100,000 miles / $0 deductible. He sells the 75,000 miles plan for less.

How much is the 7yr 80k mile plan? I am hearing conflicting advice on when I can start this extended plan. My dealer is telling me I will not qualify for Toyota's $500 off if I don't do the plan before I pick up the car. I am reading on this site that I can get it anytime before the 3yr/36k......

Troy's contact information is in his signature. You can see it in Post #683 of this thread. Get in touch with him and get the information directly from the source.

Ah, man- I just got rooked. I purchased my car last night and tho I got a got deal on the car (2007, package 5/c w/cargo net + emergency kit-$26652), the extended warranty was $2995 for 7/75000/0. And I didn't get the scotchguard, gap insurance, or paint coat either. I got the basic extended, but on the paperwork, it says platinum.

If I cancel the warranty (and pick up one from Troy), do they subtract that from the loan (bear with me, I'm a first time new car buyer)? Or do they send me the money?

    Thanks.

    p.s.

I'm looking for an address to send the cancellation to, and the only one I can find is to Agreement Administrator, P.O. Box 9550 , Cedar Rapids, IA 52409-550.

    *edit*
Just went back a few pages on this thread, and it pretty much answered all my questions. I guess I'll be calling Toyota on Monday. I think I win the prize for the biggest amount charged. :D

Holy Cow! You got raped BIG time! At least you can cancel. Boy that salesperson is going to be upset when he finds out his going to loss a huge amount of commision. I think you better send him a Sorry card! ;) (I just hope he hasn't already spent it! )

Yes. Call Toyota. You'll also need to mail them a signed letter expressing your desire to cancel the policy purchased through the dealership. I know I did.

In my case, the Extended Warranty was canceled within about a week, two at the very most. I then purchased an Extended Warranty from Troy for (in my case), ~$200 less. In your case, it'd be a whole lot more.

Whatever the timetable, both "warranties" looked identical & came from Toyota - the only difference will be money in *your* pocket.

Hi Starfall, How long did it take for Toyota to send you the refund? I cancelled both the extended warrantee and prepaid service plan. The finance manager I bought them from told me that it would take 12 weeks (yes, weeks, not days) for the refund to be remitted. That was back on 9/13/06, so I guess I have a few more weeks to wait. Is this typical or is the finance manager just "punishing" me for cancelling? I called Toyota Customer Service and they said they had nothing to do with it and that I could only find out the status of my refund from the finance manager who had submitted the cancellation papers for me. TIA, Gary

Just got my Prius this last weekend, 1/06/07, and bought a 6 yr/75,000 w/ $50 deduct. for $1240. When I got home, got a quote from www.FactoryDiscountWarranty.com: $990 for a 7 yr/100,000, $0 deduct for $990, same price as warrantyshack.com. So next day, went back to the dealer to get cancel the warranty and get a refund.

Sales rep from factorydiscount has been good at emailing me back.

I just bought a 2007 touring model. I have two questions. First re the warrentyshack extended 7 year 100,000 mile warrenty, i notice the exclusion list includes Hybrid system relays, battery, and battery module pack. I assume those are covered under the 8 year/100,000 mile toyota warrenty that comes with the car on the hybrid system. Is that correct. In addition, the warrentyshack $990 7 year warrenty sounds good, but has anyone who has it actually used it and has it performed and how easy is it to use. I also noted some other fellow whose name comes up often on this chat who sells warrenties. I cannot remember the name but does this ring a bell with anyone?
My second issue is that i only have 70 miles on the car but i am getting 25 miles per gallon in in city short trip driving. it is creeping up but very slowly. I know i am driving it ok since i rented one and got good milage on that before i bought. Is this just an initial breakin issue?

Where do people recommend getting a Canadian extended warranty?

I'd prefer a 7 year 100000 km. I need info fairly quickly, since my 3 years is up at the end of January.

Can a second owner purchase the extended warranty at the discount price?
