I use the RIM BlackBerry 7130e with my two-week old 2006 Prius.
As with all BB's, works fine -except- the data transfer of your contact list.

This is intentional on RIM's part, that a software update would fix, not a Prius problem.

You Bluetooth phone will simply 'see' a hands-free device, by default the passcode is 1111 which you can change, and should change, if you plan on data transfers.

In case you don't realize, you can end up using the Prius as a contact list backup device! You backup to the car, but, cannot do the opposite.
Still, better than nothing when you change phones.

BTW I love the quality of the Prius 06 hands free. I always holster my BlackBerry. I've lost countless calls because I was blasting the music and didn't feel the phones vibration.

Now, no more lost calls, music is silenced.

And all the passengers can partake on the conversation and make interesting background sound effects.

    /last paragraph is sarcastic

OH just think if it DID support Wi-Fi, surfing the net on the touch screen from a Starbucks parking lot! Now THAT would be a cool mod. How 'bout it Coastal?

I have a Samsung A900 and cannot upload/transfer my phonebook from my A900 to the Prius's phonebook.

How do you do the one entry at a time?

Just thought I would let everyone know that I just purchased my Prius Touring 2007 w/ NAV and my Blackberry 8100 Pearl through T-Mobile works great. Crystal clear audio and contact sync finished within 3 seconds. :)

Two of the popular ones is the Razor and the e815. I have the e815 and have had no problems with it and the Prius.

I have a 2005, so I don't have the option of entering phone numbers manually. I bought a non-Verizon phone off eBay and used that to send the phonebook to the Prius. Verizon phones (except for one, IIRC) don't have OBEX (and more importantly OOP) so you can't send the phonebook.

Please can you tell me how to do contact sync with the BB 8100? I can't transfer the numbers from the phone to the car. Cheers.

I have been trying to figure out how the phones connect to the Prius.
I have a 2005 with the no navigation system console.
    Does the Prius use bluetooth?
    Thanks

    I just figured it out.

    After connecting w/bluetooth:

    Press phone
    Press settings
    Press phone/address book
    Press transfer phone book
    Pick Group x (I picked group 1)

with your BB, go into Options
    Press Bluetooth
    Press Handsfree
    Press Transfer Address Book

And it does take 3 seconds!

    Cheers!

An Sony Ericsson T68i, which had been used by T-Mobile. I had to get a blank SIM card, but I didn't have to activate it. Works very well and sends all the numbers in one shot.

I too have an 8700 Blackberry and it connects beautifully to my spanking new Prius. Unfortunately, I can't get it to sync the address book, despite your wonderful instructions. As soon as I pick a Group and it goes to the load screen my Blackberry loses the connection. I'm never offered the "transfer address book" option in my Blackberry menu.

What's happening? Did you run into this?

    Thanks, Michael in London, Ontario.

I do not know...I was playing with my friend's 8700 and there definitely is a difference in the way you navigate things on it (from the 8100, which I and the other poster who did it successfully have). Perhaps press "Bluetooth" then "help"? I just pushed a bunch of buttons until I noticed that "transfer address book" on the menu. It did not come up the first time I tried something...have you tried the 1st box before Group 1?

My other suggestion is to call either your carrier's customer service or ask on this Blackberry forum: http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-87...ies-discussion/

My husband has a LG 8300 and a 2006 Prius and it worked fine for my husband. IT uploaded quickly and works great.

I suggest you do not do business with this "organization". They do NOT respond and have no customer service. I have made it my job to go through Priuschat and make sure any threads that mention them also point to this thread:

My cell phone service is from Virgin Mobile, and they have no Bluetooth phones! My phone is a Nokia 2115i. I want to pass along the nifty $20 gadget Nokia makes for hands-free use. It simply attaches to your headrest and plugs into one of the 12v plugs. I use the one in my center console... the wires go in and out without binding... and I put my phone in the front cup holder, binding the wire into the gap much like flossing teeth. It holds the phone right where I can poke the keys if I get a call. It has a built-in charger and a great excess cord taker-upper!

    It's a Nokia BHF-4 Handsfree Headrest Headset:

I got one, it doesn't work so far. The car wants the phone to enter a pin. There is no way to enter a pin with the A210. Jabra confirmed this for me.
