I just bought a 2007 Prius with a nav. package and I'm trying to get my Motorola V551 phone info. in the Prius phone directories. After playing around with it awhile and contacting the dealer, I learned that my phone cannot download the address book, but I have to manually install it. But now I'm getting the prompt from the car that "Voice Tag Entries have not been registered." I checked to see if Voice Tag entries were on/off, and they are off, but there is no way for me to turn them on since the button to push is not highlighted. Does anyone know of a way for me to turn voice tag entries on? Thank you.

It is quite some time since I entered voice tags and the Australian voice system is different than the US system so I might not be giving the correct answer.
Have you entered any voice tags into the car? From memory you have to say the voice tag twice to get the car to memorise it. Check your manual on how to put in voice tags.

In the 2007 US manual, it doesn't even mention (that I can see) how to enter voice tag entries. So any other comments from others are welcome. Thanks.

I just got my 07 yesterday, and I did assign some voice tags. I am not in the car now, but I seem to recall that once I set up a contact, I added the numbers (I see that a contact can only have TWO numbers :( ) and then you go to the next screen and you can add a voice tag. Basically the option is buried on another screen.

After sitting and playing with the phone book in the car and having a sales person and service person in the car as well for 2 hours, we finally figured out how to find the voice tags on the 2007 model. When you have to enter your address book manually (some phones do it automatically and others you have to do it manually), after the first page, there is a down arrow on the left hand side of the page. Tap this arrow to bring you to the next page, which is to activate the voice tag entry for that particular entry. On the next page you tap voice tag and then "Rec" [record], and the car asks for you to say what you want to call your entry. After saying it, tap "OK" on the bottom right of the same screen. This then reverts back to the previous screen, and tap "OK" again. Your manual entry now has a valid voice tag entry.

The bad news is that the Prius 2007 only allows up to 20 voice tag entries, which isn't very many. Depending on what state you live in, complete hands free is mandated, so this defeats the purpose if you have more than 20 people you need to call. Toyota needs to improve this feature, and the ease of finding out how to do this in the future. It took 3 idiots, including myself, at a dealership over 2 hours to figure this out!

Thank you so much for these instructions..........I have been very unhappy with the lack of documentation for this 'feature'...........your post was exactly what I needed :)
