We have never heard of the sunglasses problem before, so I tried this on our '06 Pruis. I used clip on polarizing sunglasses to look at the screen with our film on and off. I could not see any banding mentioned above. I also tested another film type with different optical properties that we do not yet sell. Here, I did see the banding with the sunglasses on. So, in conclusion, I could not replicate Glarnerman's results. However, we guarantee our products 100%. If you do not like the performance our our films for any reason, please contact [email protected] with your invoice number in the email. We will either fix the problem or offer a refund with a return. Thanks.

NuShield Guy is correct. I tried a test with my polarizing sunglasses by holding them between my eyes and the bare MFD and rotated them slowly. The darkening bands were apparent. I then held up the NuShield and repeated the test. No darkening at all. I hadn't noticed this effect with the MFD before installing the NuShield, so I assumed the NuShield was at fault. It was not - the MFD alone produces the undesirable effect with polarizing sunglasses. Sorry for the mis-information.

I receiver the NuSheld today and tried to put it on.
It took a while but finally got it in place.. awe.. sh^t. Specks behind the shield. Remove, clean, clean, clean oops whats that smudge... it's the adhesive from the "super stick" sticky note. Rub. rub, clean.clean. Reinsert, finally got it in place, still specks. Remove , clean more, reinsert, still specks.

It is not lint or dust on the MFD but the adhesive from the sticky note or left over adhesive from the backing material. Is there any way to get this off easily?

    I little frustrating!

    Tim

I did not have that problem with mine. I did buy the Klear Screen wipes and cleaned the screen and the protector really good. The microfiber cloth that came with the Klear Screen wipes keep the screen and the protector clear of dust and streaks. Its also best to keep your doors closed for a few minutes to let the dust settle.

    Here is what I did.

    1. Use Klear Screen wipe to clean the screen. Dry with the microfiber cloth.

    2. Hold the protector in your hand with the post it note side up and the front of the protector facing down on your hand. Take post it note off the protector and wipe down with the Klear Screen wipe. Dry with the microfiber cloth making sure to remove any streaks and dust.

    3. Wipe screen again with microfiber cloth to remove any dust that may have collected.

4 Begin the installation of the protector. You my blow on the LCD and the protector if you wish just to make sure no dust is on them.

    5. After you get the protector in place wipe it down with the Klear Screen and dry with microfiber to remove your hand print.

That should get you a dust and streak free protected screen. I cant tell mine is even there.

I really like Klear Screen and have been using it for a number of years. Works on my lap top, glasses, my wife's monitor and now my car. Great product. I get it in the 50 pk box!

I just installed a NuShield on my '06 Prius. It didn't have the masking to be removed or a sticky note, so I didn't know what side was what. NuShield Support said, "The side of the film that feels rough is the side that faces out. You may need to hold it to your ear and rub each side with a finger to determine which makes the most 'noise'." With that information I was able to determine which way to install it. I had a hard time getting the top to go under the bezel, it was going under but not very far bending at the highest point like it was blocked. Getting frustrated I got a finger nail under the top edge of the bezel and really gave the film an upward shove and sure enough it slowly started moving. The top is so tight it keeps the film from sliding around and it takes some effort to be able to move the film around or reposition it.

I assumed it came with a microfiber cloth and a single wipe, but it doesn't and I recommend adding that to your order. I was able to use a microfiber cloth and water to get dust and finger prints off the film and screen and I had no problems. It's completely invisible once installed and you wouldn't even know it was there. I would definitely recommend this product because it can easily be replaced if it gets scratched, unlike your expensive MFD (you may want to order two and keep a spare on hand). One recommendation for NuShield though, please re-write the instructions specifically for the Prius including the above quoted information to determine which way to install it, and a helpful hint on how the top of the '06 screen is tight.

I might too. I had one made by another company. In addtion to the dust and air bubbles, I had to contend with a rainbow pattern when I was wearing sunglasses. I removed it after one day. If the NuShield works, great!

I recently installed the NuShield MFD protector and am very satisfied with its function. You do have to take care to clean the MFD and try to eliminate the dust on the MFD and the protector sheet. A little effort results in a satisfying result. My reccomendtion is to go ahead and purchase direct versus waiting for availability on the Prius Shop.

I just ordered the NuShield protector for my 06 Prius.

I also ordered some for my Pioneer AVIC-D2 that I have in my 06 Solara.

I have a question about the Klear Screen cleaners. I went ahead and took the offer for the 3 pack.. but how many are included in the various other sized like the Starter or Travel packs?

I'll report back after my install how things went.

Just installed mine today. The side that faces down is definitely a smudge magnet. Had to remove twice and clean. But now it's on there and looks pretty good. Less glare in the daytime. Installation wasn't a big deal, just takes patience and few of their cleaning pads. If you order be sure to get the cleaning pads... they are well worth it.

    Cheers!
