Prius Aux?

    Just a quick question for you all, i was wondering does the stock prius stereo have a Aux outlet on the back or does it use some sort of other connector

    I have a 2005, and I wonder what you mean by stock. The newer models have an analog aux-in 1/8" stereo female jack mounted in the center console. The back of the JBL radio has a socket for plugging in a second CD/DICE iPod unit/XM or Sirius sat radio, etc. I think the non-JBL radio does too, but I'm not sure.

    Sorry should have been clearer, I have the base stereo and mine didnt come with the Aux jack in the console for some reason so i was looking for some other option for hooking up my ipod Thanks

    I thought all the later models had an aux input. Anyway, the cheap & simple way for me to add an aux input to my '05 with the single CD stereo was something called an AUX BOX and a cable that plugs into a socket on the back of the stereo. There are other more elaborate and more expensive solutions for iPods, DICE etc. etc. discussed here in various threads.

    The base 2007 Prius does not have an aux connection. You need to order the car with a package to get that. I'll probably buy an FM transmitter to go along with my iPod before my wife and I take any serious multi-day road trips.
