    Hey All,

I've got an '05, with about 25K on it. A couple of weeks ago, Check Engine Light comes on after getting gas. Do the usual (take off gas cap, retighten, etc.), and light won't go out. Get the car in to the dealer last Thursday, where they spend a day with it, and reset the CEL, then drive in "scan" mode to make sure all is clear. I got the car back that evening.

On Saturday, the CEL was back on. Got it in to the dealer yesterday (Monday). They've given me a loaner (not quite a Prius) while they dig in to it. Keep getting an error code on a misfire for #4 cylinder. I spoke to the tech at length today; he can't figure out what's up. Car seems to run fine (no noticible rough running), but CEL keeps popping back up. Tech speculated "bad gas" could be the culprit, although I've been filling up at the same place for years and, again, car "feels" like its running fine. It also doesn't always pop the light - usually only when the car is cold.

Has anyone else had any issues like this? I've been getting some good help from Galaxee, but I'd like to hear from other folks....

    Thanks
    B

Well, its another good reason to hang on to every gas station receipt. If you ever get "bad" gas, and have the receipt, the station in question has a hard time getting out of it.

I have kept receipts for years as I'm allowed to claim business mileage. The one time I did get a tank of bad gas with a previous vehicle - a 2000 GMC Sierra - the service station eventually paid the repair costs. It took me almost 4 months to get reimbursed but I kept all repair-related receipts.

If you're referring to the TSB regarding the window wiper cowling, and water going in to the coil, then yes....

ok. DH's next move would be to check spark plugs and then ignition coils.

Toyota "back in California" has told the dealer to replace all the fuel injectors. I have the car back while the parts are on order - will have them next week. Car seems to run fine....

ok, let us know how it turns out.

strange that they're replacing all of them for a cyl 4 misfire but hey. ;)
