Quick question about how to lock onto POIs while moving. If I say "gas" for example the system displays all the gas stations in the area on the map, but I don't know how to lock onto the closest and start guidance using the voice commands. Is this possible and if so how?

    Thanks in advance...

I haven't actually tried this, but give this a shot.

Touch one of the POIs and you should see Info show at the top of the screen. You must now stop to press that Info popup for that POI. That will give you address and phone. Perhaps from that screen you can set it as a destination.

When I say "gas", the system responds with "showing sports complexes..." <_<

I've also wondered about this -

Like: pick an icon, press on it, then somehow push a button or two & maybe somehow make this icon your destination?

I hope sombody has a simple answer!

I do this all the time! I just say "Petrol Station" (UK system), touch the screen over the icon i want to set as destination and then the system justs puts up the "Add to" and "Replace" icons. press one of these and the destination is set. I'm sure thats how it works but will confirm tomorrow night.

    Update

If you just say "Nearest Petrol Station" The system responds with "Finding nearest Petrol Station", then it carries on with "Say Enter if you want to set this as your destination" or "Say Add to destination or Replace Destination" if you already have another destination set.

But when the system responds with the nearest gas station, the pop up window fills half the screen and you can't see where the gas station is.

That GUI designer should be fired.

I do like this Nav system better than any other I've used in the past. (I've had 3 in total), but this one feature is a little strange.

I have used the "nearest" fucntion a few times, problem is it sometimes selects a POI behind you.

In my Mazda 3 if you chose "nearest" POIs you'd get a list of sites with a little arrow next to the distance showing what relitive direction it was to you. You can then scroll down and pick whatever POI is most approprieate.

Other than this, I love the navigation system. One of the nice things is you can actually type in business names and it will find it. My older Nav systems never had specific business other than restraunts or gas stations or large shopping centers. The other day i wanted to find the nearest radioshack and was able to type it right it. Quite amazing. :)
