i've never seen an immigration card, period.
all the contractors around here are from other countries, i don't ask and they don't offer.
mostly nice people, from my experience

I have, because I used to issue them.

Yea, they are absolutely the nicest people and are very grateful to get them.

Sadly the boots on the ground (US only) don’t reflect that reality. The domestic Palestine movement has been co-opted by individuals who are layering on with imported foreign political extremism. This messaging gets mixed in with unrelated domestic issues that radicalizes downtrodden vulnerable citizens who have no ties or knowledge of the Middle East.
we simply don’t need this additional vehicle of radicalization in this country
(we have enough home grown extremism being weaponized by the current admin as it is)

    The Dignity Index
That is the thing that is lost, immigrants by and large are only here to better their and their families lives and have far lower levels of criminal or even divisive behavior than the locals.
That is the truly criminal part of this, but considering the current regime can’t function without scapegoating, I only expect this to expand as we run out of the weakest residents to scapegoat, they will move up the ladder.

First they came for the immigrants
And I did not speak out
Because I was not an immigrant
Then they came for the tourists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a tourist
Then they came for the government unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a unionist
Then they came for the disabled
And I did not speak out
    Because I was not disabled
Then they came for the Islamists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Muslim
    Then they came for me
And there was no one left
    To speak out for me

unfortunately, there are plenty of people speaking out, but only the judiciary has any power.

beyond that, it would take civil disobedience like jan. 6th, and the majority of guns are in the wrong hands

Too many individuals forget that nearly everyone in thus country are born the descendants of immigrants who fled poverty and/or persecution in their countries of origin.

I have two friends that went through the process of becoming US Citizens...one from Colombia and one from Egypt. Both entered "legally", got their Work Visas, later got their "Green Cards" and eventually earned their Citizenship. It's a long process and the "rules of engagement" are very strict. For the record...Green Card holders do not hold "all rights and privileges" afforded Citizens.

Rights and Responsibilities of a Green Card Holder (Permanent Resident) | USCIS
    Maintaining Permanent Residence | USCIS

I'm not a Lawyer and don't claim to be one on TV...but I do know that you better practice your best behavior until you do obtain your Citizenship.

If they are grabbing non-citizens ff the street and deporting them without due process, they'll do it to citizens.

Or maybe nobody will do that on purpose, but as "without due process" is short for "skipping the pesky step of figuring out if these people are the right ones to deport or not", it'll be tricky to know how often it happens.

"Due Process" for illegal aliens is usually an administrative hearing - but hey, I'm happy to sit back and watch the 'usual suspects' step on the same rakes.....

Determining citizenship is much more complicated than can be discussed here.

Section 300 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, 8 USC 300 and everything associated with it under 8 CFR 300 is available on line.

I advise you to go consult an Immigration attorney.

There are many cases of US CITIZENS arrested by mistake.

Your comment was not about arrest...it was about deporting.

...and determining that someone is a US Citizen is not difficult. If, as you implied, you worked or were attached to USCIS...you know this.

The most famous are children that are citizens that have been deported en proxy due to lack of investigation and decision making that normally occurs.

Worth noting administrative warrants have no power in these situations, heck can’t even enter a building with one , in normal times said admin bs always goes to a judge if they are inland of the border, can’t be bothered to follow the law though.

Based on historical norms ICE has erroneously deported around 18 citizens a year and that was during good times.

We are around 25 during this short period of time, sadly getting the number exactly is difficult because the normal inspections, record keeping and judicial processes aren’t occurring.,
those who have the legal power to inspect after trying to leave an uneventful tour were harassed with a group of officers trying to generate a misguided photo op and video
