    IT security is almost never enforced to it's optimum levels. It tends to slow people down too much.

    Actually not true. When done right, a secure OS can be as fast or faster than commercial or open source products. How do I know this? Because I worked with a group that tested against them.

    I think we both said the same thing. When done right, security can enhance your overall performance, but my experience is that many corporations don't want to take the time to enforce the rules and restrictions.

    that's the way it usually starts. not required for most or all features. yea - that's a real comfort.
    and what OS is/was this? ... rock solid ? / crack proof / super duper resilient & bullet proof? And why aren't we all using it? Maybe antique OS's of the 60's & 70's didn't suffer from todays issues because of the limited quantity of computers dotting the landscape - much less hackers.
