Looks like some of the Kia and Hyundai stuff . Let's see it wen it's a 2500 used car like I buy my generation 2 . probably won't. Be any that make it through . Very disposable

    Worst review ever?

I started writing a reply with every factual error I found, but after finding 11 or 12 in the first three minutes of the video, I gave up. He better never become a pirate because there's no way a parrot could ever fit on his shoulder considering the size of the chip that's sitting there now.

The Civic monstrosity at about 7:00 is pretty funny, though. (I saw a still image of it before on Real Mechanic Stuff.)

Kudos for making it that far.

I couldn't tell whether he just had some version of a regional accent, but I found his speech difficult to decipher. Driving on the highway "pedal to the metal", i.e. 5mph faster than the traffic in the slower lane and inconsistently, isn't going to provide others a lot of useful information. Methodologically, this may have been worse than the genre in which a salesman tells you it's sporty, all new and fast.

The motor trend or whatever review pretty much got it right it's a very cool car it's just 40 Grand you can get the same vehicle just go buy a used Chevy Volt with 56,000 mi on it one owner sitting in like South Carolina or the person is used gas about 12 times in its life so far I've got two of them Chevy really hit it right with this drive platform it's unfortunate that they killed it off but apparently it's in a V6 ram truck now probably around 100 Grand but it still lives the drivetrain so maybe it'll find its way back into a car because it certainly viable for the next 11 years easily if this thing could go 60 miles like it does it's 30 on electric at full speed and then have the generator. And then if it had like a yanmar diesel for the generator and the vault-tec drivetrain boy you'd have had something. But GM can't do that they have to forward gasoline because of the lobbying I get that but it could have been then you would have been getting 55 on the gas engine generator up from about 42 and everything else could pretty much stay the same it's a killer setup I'm surprised Toyota didn't come up with something very similar at a similar time because it could have dominated all the way until whatever is coming down the pipe comes that's why I bought these two. I still drive the Prius mostly but the women are driving these and you never hear anything about them which I guess is kind of a good thing what kind of vehicle I guess maybe you'd want to drive the one you don't have to hear about much it just works

Serious stream of consciousness - you got a few things on your mind and now they are off your mind.

Lot more can be done w/ near 40K to ride around to work to pay for it . Most folks don't have a place to put the 40K up at night etc . But very cool . If it's more like the original.

Unless the Gen 5 Prius gets the TSS 4.0 upgrade in its 2026 mid-cycle refresh like the all-new RAV4 does, it is an obsolete car for me. LOL

How much more so, all the prior models. That's the nature of newer upgrades.

It is partial self-driving. Why do you even need a new car then? Keep fixing your Gen 2.

Our favorite mechanic just did an update on the 2025. (He also did a review on a pre-production 2023 Prius Prime a couple years back).

Quick tidbits: Lots of good things to say. He hates the yellow and the gauge cluster. I'll agree to disagree on those points(I love the yellow and don't mind the cluster).

Enough with the reviews for the Gen 5 Prius as the Gen 5½ Prius (mid-cycle refresh) is less than six months away. LOL

Do you really think there will much of a refresh? Gen 2 had minimal changes, right? If they change the white styrofoam to gray, I’ll be pissed. Ha!

A TSS 4.0 upgrade would be nice. I doubt we will see a transition to the Arene software platform, but we will see.

The emergency stop on the TSS 4.0 would be nice to have. I don’t think I would want to deal with any additional features. I’m still trying to get used to the car breaking for me.
