I just bought a new XSE Premium, and love it, mostly. I continue to appreciate the improvements, while being surprised at the features that were discontinued.

Specifically, I miss viewing the XM Song and Artist data when the screen is in map mode. The screen has plenty of space and isn't bothered by popping up big blocks of the screen with little information.

Unless I missed how to set up this feature.

No, I'll give it a look. I would prefer to see it on the huge 12 and a half inch display as with the previous model, but if this works, it's better than nothing.

Could it be a distracted driving issue?

No, Again, this was a normal feature in the gen 4. I don't know that it as a conscious decision, it seems to be more a result of the deign of the new radio screen. And not very bright developers.

With people just connecting their phones through Carplay and Android Auto, the developers of the head unit likely didn't see a need for this split screen natively. I know AA can do it. The large screen of the gen4 didn't support those phone apps though.
