My neighbor has a 2009 Toyota Prius. It drove fine one day and wouldn't start the next day. He has checked his 12v battery, oil, coolant and brake fluid. All fluids were a little low. We did get someone to come over and check the codes. This is what he wrote down.
    C1259 hv system regenerative malfunction
    C1310 malfunction in hv system
    C1241 low on high voltage
    C1242 open circuit on I62
C1300 malfunction in engine central unit
C1313 open circuit main relay 2
    C1377 c (something) malfunction
I might not have everything he wrote down right. Trying to read his handwriting from a picture sent to me. If anyone can help out and let me know what you think is wrong and what we need to replace, I would appreciate it. He is on a fixed income and is disabled. It is his only car. Thanks

The correct description for the C1241 is:
Low Battery Positive Voltage or Abnormally High Battery Positive Voltage, and related to the 12 V supply arriving at the skid control ECU.

With any 12 V issues, the 12 V battery needs to be fully charged and then tested. It should be replaced if it fails testing, and this should be done before any further attempt at diagnosis or repair is made.

The correct description for the C1300 is Skid Control ECU Malfunction

    The last one is:

C1377 Capacitor Malfunction. There are eight sub-codes (aka INF codes) that will help narrow down the problem. The sub-code(s) can be found in the freeze frame data. It would help if those could be shared with us.

This code relates to the brake control power supply that is located right next to the 12 V battery in the RR of the trunk.

If the 12 V battery does end up getting replaced, then all codes should be cleared and the car rescanned if any warning light reappears.
