If you expect a company you deal with to honor a warranty and treat you with respect, YOU DO NOT WANT TO buy a battery from Green Bean/LKQ. The lifetime warranty that came with the battery we bought was one reason we used Green Bean. That initial purchase was fine 5 years ago, but the warranty that came with it was evidently not worth the paper it was printed on. We have experienced the run around, been strung along for 6 weeks now since we reported the failed battery, gave them the needed info, and were told we qualified and were approved for a warranty replacement. After 6 weeks, no battery, nothing but delays and excuses, you feel like a fool for waiting around for 6 weeks without a workable car. It's like torture to second guess, is this ever going to happen? Do I need to wait, or face facts and just buy a battery FROM A DIFFERENT COMPANY? That's what we've realized we had to do. Green Bean is not a trustworthy, dependable business, and they don't honor their warranty. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT is a good idea stated in some other posts. I think this stall and delay tactic is happening in several states. Maybe some lawyer out there can check posts on MANY sites and get started, because I'm seeing lots of people with the same problem.

If you got a used "rebuilt" battery that lasted 5 years you have done pretty well. That being said, I understand the part about them not honoring their warranty....

Everybody loves a used battery until it can be used no more

If you paid my credit card, call them and they will take the money back from them until
    they replace it.
Then you can purchase a new sodium battery...... (y)

Not 5 years later. 60 to 90 days in most states.

I wanna try one the fake prismatic whatever chem battery they making. I've talked to the guy a bit I think I've had line card or equal . He says their engineering for 8 to 10 year long. They have a few packs running in the 2.5 litre Lexus vehicles with great results so far. They look well made but it's plastic injection molding and hermetically sealed cases similar to The originals without the aluminum but different chemistry . Not sodium

NO,,,,,,, "lifetime" warranty..... They card company will do it.
And it certainly would not hurt to call them and inquire.

Small claims court is another way. Undo hardship. Gotta be worth a million dollars

Good luck getting credit card companies to enforce performance warranties.

My card also has extended warranties after the merchandice's warranty expires....

Call your local consumer's affairs office and news agencies. Some bad press should light a fire under their butts.
Since it's been 6 weeks, tell them that you expect them to provide you a rental car - until they straighten this out.
See if another shop in the area can repair it in a more timely manner and take it there. You may only be able to recover what your initially paid for the original service in small claims court.

    Good luck......

I would have a lawyer send a "demand letter" to the company. It would have a comprehensive history of the situation and is usually a pre step to a lawsuit.

Generally it suggests a "demand" that would satisfy the client (eg repaired battery).

You may have an arbitration clause in your purchase or warranty agreement which a lawyer could explain. I am sure there are exclusions and timelines in the warranty which should be examined.

    *checks math*

Why would you buy a 3rd party battery for a 2015 Prius v in 2020? Or was this for a different car not listed in your profile?

The OP joined as a member of this forum on 17 Jan 2025. He says his location is England. This is the first post for the OP. The OP's user name Bluey is also a TV show. It is very hard to believe that Green Been/LKQ sells these batteries in England. Something does not add up. I do not think the OP will come back to this thread. One and done post.

A few days ago, I pulled out a hybrid battery from a 2013 prius, with 306k miles, and it turned out to be the Green Bean pack. It was installed in 2019. All 28 modules from 2013 and the bus bars were nickel-plated.
This car was bought at an auto auction as an abandoned vehicle, no key, no title, parts only. I drove it for a couple hundred miles and didn't notice any issues with the battery. I've already cycled it 3 times and i'm sure it will serve a few more years.

Likely because they were newer cells, at the time.
