As things continue to get more and more humiliating for Trump, it's conceivable that in a moment of dementia, he may order an invasion of Canada, promulgating his goal of making us his "51st state." I'm not worried; first of all, I'm sure we can rely on NATO to come to our strong defense, they really hate America since Trump, and secondly, I doubt that some US military have much of a heart for invading a friendly neighbor. Some of them are probably diehard MAGAs, but they are the stupid ones, so not much of a threat. Ukraine proved that a small country can stand up to a bully 10 times it's size, and I think we can. At any rate, I'm too old to be drafted, but a short period of occupation might be something interesting to write home about.
Trump will likely get another WWiii started outside our borders long before it comes to NA. I too am too damn old and too many health problems to be in a war either but that hasn’t stopped Russia and other governments from throwing old men into the grinder. been tempted to move to the most remote and least tactically important part of the world and stay there until these guys burn through resources and self destruct. In another 10 years the cancer may have burned itself out and I could then return to rebuild and see what’s left.
LILLEY: The Liberals put Canada in this mess, not Trump | Toronto Sun "A decade of Liberal mismanagement is why we have rising unemployment, a broken immigration system and unaffordable housing" You Don't Realize How Doomed Canada Is "Canada does not have an economy. We have one of the largest land masses in the world, but we have catastrophic levels of productivity. With only 40 million people, we no longer have enough labour to service our national debt. Canada's national debt is nearing two trillion and we now pay more per capita to service the interest payments than what is sustainable. This explains every political party's obsession with mass immigration. It's a quick fix for what has been a decades-long spiral into oblivion. However, as the cost of housing continues to rise, immigration will cease to remain a viable solution." Canada is falling behind its peers in terms of living standards — can it catch up? "This palpable downturn begs two urgent questions: what underlies this fall in living standards? And what can be done to stop, and perhaps even reverse, this unsettling trend?"
Most of us ignore the cranky fringe elements. They will always be there, waging war against the facts.
Highly doubt USA attempt to take Canada. But, let us say the USA gets into an unpopular foreign morass. Say the USA bumps up Selective Service -- think of the late 1960s era -- only with selectees ages 16-65. Canada's population problem solved?
It's hard to believe anyone wastes even a second of their time worrying about this. Even Canadians are letting Trump live in their head 24/7? There's plenty to do in life. Start doing those things and embrace living. Let go of the Trump hate before you have a brain bleed. It is what it is for the next few years. I can't believe how many people worry about stuff they have no control over.
