The inspection for my 2004 Prius is coming up at the end of the month, and the EGR System, Oxygen Heater Sensor, Secondary Air System, and Heated catalyst are STILL not being detected. Not failed, not detected AT ALL. I’m told that’s normal for some of these systems as they’re not present, except for the Oxygen Heater Sensor. So regardless I need to at least know the reasons that sensor is coming back as ‘unavailable’ rather than ‘failed’ or flagging any codes specific to it.

I am absolutely desperate at this point. If I lose the car I will not only be without a home once the town demolishes it next month, but without a car as well, which leaves me with nothing.

In upstate NY? So you're doing this by looking at the IM monitors on a scanner correct? I think that's a bit different . How do you know which are sposed to be detected and not ? I know I don't know this and I lived in many emissions States. Back in the days when they shoved the thing up your tailpipe and number showed on the screen and if they weren't in green you didn't go . But they're was always a way around . Referee get it put off till next year n such . As long as there wasn't sheet metal hanging off your car and general things like that going on car looked presentable etc there was a work around of some sort . I cannot imagine this is still no so
