^ In my limited experience (bought my first home relatively late in life) not very many people are bragging about how their rent goes down after their landlords do a 5-figure 'green makeover' on their properties.
    Or?
    ANYTIME.

    However (comma!!!!!!!!)
Let's pretend for a moment that this occurs.
EITHER WAY, the subsidies are a direct government payment aimed at wealthier taxpayers who already HAVE a house.

    An Aside:
I was quasi-hoping that the BBB would not be passed in the lower house, and now I MIGHT find myself hoping that it completely implodes - depending on how accurate some of my sources are.
From what I'm hearing, if no bill is passed then....yeah. I get shanked by several thousand dollars in new (old) taxes.

    HOWEVER (comma!!!!)
I was originally thinking that the SALT caps would go away - but instead they would stay at 10K????
    Izat right????
If so then we would not be transferring wealth to horribly run states at 4x that rate - which would make it worthwhile.
Maybe someone better informed might weigh in on that specific detail.

Since the leftists like to compete with the far right on who can tell the biggest lies - I am a little curios about the claim that the BBB would add 4 trillion to the debt bomb over the next 10 years - but NOT passing it will prevent additional debt.

    -really ;)

Different lease agreements have different provisions for how utilities get paid. I rented in one place where the heating cost was rolled into the rent I paid (it was a big building with a single central boiler). But I was frequently in rentals where I paid my rent to the landlord and also the gas and electric bills came to me directly from the utilities. I don't think that's a totally unusual situation.

Landlords are only going to put in efficient utilities and appliances when it benefits them, not the renter. They aren't in the business to be a charity. They are in it for the tax breaks and the profits.

Salt Taxes are somewhat complicated and highly Political.

Here is an article that details them in a non-biased nonpolitical way. It is from Investopedia

State and Local Tax (SALT): Definition and How It's Deducted
"The SALT deduction effectively rewarded their residents at the federal level for paying certain taxes at the state and local levels and that reward was now limited. "

High Tax States were using SALT to allow residents to deduct their exorbitant taxes to decrease their Federal Tax Liability and force other states to fund the Federal Government.

As you can imaging when the SALT Deductions were cut and, in some cases, went away the high tax states lost their mind. Chuck Schumer nearly went into conniptions closely followed by Nancy Pelosi's Hysteria.

Right on cue these states ran to the Supreme Court crying their eyes out but ultimately lost:
"Four states filed a federal lawsuit charging that the $10,000 limit was unconstitutional: Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York. The U.S. Supreme Court ultimately ruled otherwise in 2021"

Remind me which were the states with the more positive and more negative net balance of federal government payments?

    Using real numbers?
    OH PLEASE!!!!
    You go first.....:ROFLMAO:

Personally I think that it's a disgusting "metric" because it presumes that the federal government's role is to confiscate a certain (majority, in some cases) portion of ALL individual assets and dole them BACK out as they see fit.
SALT deductions, and some Medicaid programmes, to say nothing of EVangelism beautifully illuminate the fallacy of this line of arguments....

When Christ told a man that he needed to love his neighbor, the man asked, "who is my neighbor?" Jesus replied with the parable of the good Samaritan, which wasn't about doing the obvious and helping someone in distress, but rather, he used a Samaritan as an example because Samaritans were outsiders, the remnants of the Assyrian invasion of the northern tribes of Isreal, and who didn't follow the law and had different beliefs than the Jews, for which reason the majority of Jews hated the Samaritans and wanted them off of their land.
