Yes. I think the limited or premium version of the Prius and Plug-in might have this. The Subaru back up camera had orange lines that moved/curved showing her the angle of her wheels in order to guide her while parallel parking.
I honestly don't remember. I think I may have just given the carbon filter to the dealership at one of my free oil changes and had them change it. So I probably never even saw the original one myself. Sorry.
Neither of the OEM cabin air filters has activated carbon. I buy the more expensive “premium” one, which is made in Japan. I think the cheaper, nonpremium one is made in the US.
No, Toyota parts are never sold as a combo or more than one piece at a time, excluding repair/rebuild kits. For example, if you need several clips, you need to order them as individual pieces, even though they come to the dealer in a bag of ten.
Thanks. We’ve had rain and I haven’t had a chance to look. I watched two videos of people changing the cabin filter on a 2023. One looks like a regular white filter and the other is either carbon or just dirty. : }
FWIW After finally checking my cabin filter I can’t believe Toyota recommends replacing every 30k miles. Have they always recommended that? They must want the HVAC system to break down. I know they mention changing more often depending on your environment but still. I only have 1600 miles on mine and it’s stained with dirt, misc debris including leaves and a dead spider. I don’t live on the woods. It’s the super wimpy white filter. Glad I ordered the premium carbon one today.
I'm pretty sure there's no specific interval from Toyota itself. They just say to inspect it every 5k miles and replace if needed. It's individual dealerships that give specific intervals. Maybe they're real intervals based on how filters do in their particular areas, or maybe they're just upsells. Probably no part on the car will have more variance in when it needs to be changed as the engine and cabin air filters. They depend on the region, the season, the amount driven, and exactly where in the region they're driven(dirt roads vs. pavement - etc.).
Ha ha, I see; so, that dark-gray color is because it has activated charcoal in it. It looks like they have discontinued the US-made (part number *-YZZ*) ones, including the cheapest, white ones anyway.
