    Weeell, bacteria are neither fauna nor flora, if one wants to go there. They are 'just' microbiota, apparently lacking a name with better flourish.

    Transfloration? Seems to conceal more than reveal.

    Transmicrobiotification? Oh please no.

    Transfaunation is poetic; even musical. Afternoon of a transfaun. Debussy. Dun no where I'm going with this so

    Bacteria are flora, and the eukaryotes in the microbiota are fauna. It's a description that someone used long ago, and has become shorthand for distinguish between the two.
