I see there are four screws there in the armrest, two on each side, but does anyone actually know all the steps to remove it? Too tight to get a screwdriver in there...Thanks!

Pull straight up on the cup holders to remove. There are two screws attaching the armrest to the floor. In the armrest itself are one or two screws at the bottom of the bin. Remove those. You do NOT need to remove the screws on the sides by the seats. You can move the armrest up and back now.

Thanks for the quick response! So:

    1. First open the armrest and remove the screws inside the storage area (one or two of them)
    2. After that all I need to do is pull up on the cupholders? Is that it?

    No more extra screws?

    Cool! Thanks!

    Uh... no!

    1. open console (now that I know what you meant by "armrest"!) and remove the rug on the floor of the thing (just pulls out). Remove the two screws at the bottom that you just exposed.
    2. Remove front "cup holder" trim from the front of the console by just pulling it off the clips. Remove two screws from the FRONT/sides of the console that are now exposed - down near the floor at an anglr. Don't remove the screws on the side (in the middle of the console) that are difficult to get to because the seats are in the way. Those only hold the shelf in the console)
    3. Console is now free. Tilt whole console back. It will still be attached by all the wires in the rear of the thing for power, audio, etc.

If you find a screw that you have trouble getting a screw driver on - you don't need to remove it.

In case I wasn't clear enough. Leave the screws alone that are "too tight to get a screwdiver" on. Those screws just hold the shelf. The ones you want can all be reached with the seat in place (though shove it back to easily get at the front screws.

Whew. Yeah I was a bit worried to think of you keeping the front screws in and just yanking up on the cup holders! That ain't gonna work no matter how hard you pull (and that's experience talking!)

    Good luck.
