The value divided by costs of efforts for 'assimilating' Canada into US continues to elude me.

Alberta tar sands can be cooked into saleable petroleum, as already done, but it's not like they have been dragging their heels. Fracking has reduced value of tar sands. Let it go.

Canada grows lots of trees and less have been burned in recent years than click media might lead you to 'feel'. But those trees have not higher value than plywood and stick stock. Furniture and other good stuff comes from wood from lower latitudes.

Canada's Great Plains grow wheat etc., but future climates won't improve those soils. US farm belt has mollsols; a soil type not found up North. I am sad to not effectively teach y'all about soil types.

In general, if US wants what Canada gots, just reduce tariffs.

    Like dairy?
    Lumber?

Frankly, tariffs are taxes, and I remember a time when taxes were thought of as a necessary evil - NOT a plan for prosperity.

There's an approximately zero-percent chance that the US would invade Canada - OR invite them to be States 53 through 63 - nor would they WANT US to.
They have all of the advantages of being US without most of the downsides.

Or at least Point Roberts. Maybe we could negotiate for an overland route to Point Roberts, and call it win-win?

    Good point.

    As I said.
We share a 5,500 mile border!
The idea that there will be a 'major' trade disruption between our two nations doesn't even rise to the level of clique-bait.

    Besides:
The only TWO times you will get most Canadians riled up is with two-2-word phrases:

    American Beer
    Stanley Cup

Basically, as mentioned previously in post 9.......

It's just that some people want to get their panties all twisted up about anything and everything. Some people just don't have enough drama in their life already and need to analyze every word out of Trump's mouth to find something to get wound up about.

It would be so much easier to just live your life with a bit of common sense and a realistic view of what's going on around you.

That’d be a lot easier with an adult president.
