Hello, My 2013 prius has a hybrid and brake system light on. Power steering is off. I checked the codes and the hybrid, steering, and dashboard/instrument cluster #1 are all throwing the code u0129. They all are unable to communicate with the abs module. The last code is b1412 for the ambient temp sensor. Where can I check the abs module ground? I tried clearing the codes, but they came immediately back. If the abs module ground is good, and the module is bad, is it difficult to replace? Thanks in advance, Jason
I don't know that I'd necessarily jump to checking the ground ahead or instead of any of the other things needing to be checked. Naturally the ECU will need good power, ground, and network connections; the code does refer to a network communication problem, after all. I think I would just buckle down and start following the troubleshooting steps in the repair manual for U0129. Those steps will lay out the routing of the network wiring and what can be easily checked where. There is one for each other ECU that can report U0129 when it's unable to reach the skid ECU. So if you have three different ECUs reporting U0129 codes, you have three troubleshooting procedures you can compare in the manual. Sections of wiring mentioned in common by all three might be especially interesting to look at first.
