Just dawned on me. Since the $7.5K tax credit is going away - what an excellent way for VW to clean out inventory prior to. Plus - a lease allows for peeps who typically owe no tax - to still get it as the credit is baked into the lease.

    Mr. Google says:

The estimated average lease payment for the Volkswagen ID.Buzz is $860/mo with $2,000 due at signing for a 36-month term with 12,000 annual mileage limit. Estimated average monthly lease payments for the same deal but with 24-month or 48-month term lengths are $992/mo and $803/mo respectively.

Of course sometimes Mr. Google is wrong. I would wait for them to come off lease and then see what the purchase price is.
